Evidence-based practice is very important in gathering statistics and information that can be used in practice. In order to change public health practice and populations health, it is imperative for the Clinical Nurse Specialist to seek out and search knowledge in practice that is evidenced-based (Barr-Walker, 2017). Most of the research for public health is in practice at bedside and for government organizations. To change policies and function as a specialist in public health, research needs to be done that is scientifically based in the occupation. There are many different resources to gather information PHN-652 Topic 1 DQ 1. One of the two that I use very often is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC gives a variety of statistics and the latest research on different health and socioeconomic problems that show where more research and funding need to be assessed for population health (Barr-Walker, 2017).
Pubmed Is another database that has millions of citations and resources that have evidence-based research and research that is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
