Overview
The ability to understand and manage conflict is an entry-to-practice competency. The purpose of this assignment is to allow students to gain a deeper understanding of conflict. This assignment shows students’ skill with written communication in APA format.

· APA format (review Citing and Writing on the Library website).
· Required supporting resources used in the paper:
o Scholarly articles – Include at least (you may use more) 3 scholarly articles (review criteria for what makes a scholarly article). If you use fewer than 3 scholarly articles and/or the articles are not relevant/appropriate, marks will be deducted. AND
o College of Nurses of Ontario - practice guideline #47004 Conflict Prevention and Management and practice standard #49040 Code of Conduct. AND
o At least 1 textbook e.g., Kozier et al., 2018 or Cooper, 2001, or Yoder-Wise et al., 2020. AND
o At least 1 non-scholarly information source (newspaper, online website, blog).

· Introduction - Key statement (attention grabber). Thesis statement (purpose and goal).
· Definition of the topic - Provide a clear definition of the topic you have selected. Briefly discuss why this is an issue in healthcare and/or nursing. Provide supporting evidence for this discussion.
· Contributing Factors - Using research, outline the factors that contribute to the development of this type of conflict in the healthcare setting. Explain the consequences which can occur if this type of conflict is not resolved appropriately. Provide supporting evidence for this discussion.
Strategies for Resolution - What preventative measures might reduce the incidence of this conflict developing? Once conflict has developed, what strategies can be used to mitigate or resolve the
