Telehealth
As per my observations, more nurses are required to provide frontline care as the field of nursing continues to develop, which causes many of them to become overworked. The advent of telehealth in nursing has made it possible for nurses to do their duties in a more accessible and effective manner. Telehealth is currently used more often to address the nursing shortage, even though many nurses are accustomed to visiting patients in their typical hospital settings (Sharifi Kia et al., 2022). I looked up the PubMed database in the Capella University Library and typed in the search keyword to learn more about the role that telehealth plays in strengthening the safety and quality of the care that is delivered. I was able to find several articles by using search phrases like “telehealth,” “telenursing,” “patient safety,” and “quality of care given.” I narrowed the search to just publications posted in English in the previous five years and found the four articles mentioned below.

This technology enables nurses to effectively manage a larger patient load while maintaining high standards of quality and safety in their care delivery. Due to the persistent issue of overcrowding in EDs, certain EDs have implemented telemedicine as a strategy to augment the number of healthcare providers available during periods of high patient influx. This approach also enables the provision of scheduled “home” face-to-face encounters through on-screen interactions.

An annotated bibliography stimulates innovative thinking to find solutions and approaches to effectively and efficiently address these issues.
