To prepare you for this week discussion, you must first conduct an interview with a nursing administrator to assess their knowledge about the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act. Be prepared to discuss your findings with your peers in the discussion this week.

Discussion Guidelines
Initial Post
Before writing your post, conduct an interview about the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) with a nurse administrator in a hospital setting, a clinical practice setting, or an ambulatory setting.

Here is a list of sample questions you should ask:

What can you tell me about the PPACA?
Can the APRN realistically assist with the implementation of PPACA? If so, how?
What changes to the PPACA would have the greatest impact on patient health? On the role of APRNs?
For each question, if your interviewee gives a one-word answer or brief answers, ask probing or clarifying questions to elicit a meaningful response from the person you are interviewing. The only responses written should be from the person you are interviewing.

For this week’s discussion, post a synthesis of your interview. Also post whether there are any misconceptions stated by the interviewee and what information you could have provided to avoid this.

Discuss the effect of this interview on your view of the PPACA. Cite at least two sources to support your answers.
