The IMCU nursing team typically performs shift handoff reports in the nursing station, which might result in communication failures, lost information, and postponed care. By applying BSR, nursing staff may more efficiently convey essential patient information, include patients and families in the care process, and increase nursing staff collaboration. This quality improvement program aims to improve the overall quality of care delivered to patients at the IMCU by increasing nursing staff communication and teamwork, integrating patients and families in the care process, and lowering the risk of adverse events and readmissions (Ruiz-Palomino et al., 2021). By applying BSR, I want to enhance patient outcomes, boost nurse efficiency, and cut long-term healthcare expenses.
