There is also a need to come up with vaccine customization and vaccine pricing and procurement strategies that can meet the needs of low and middle-income countries to help strengthen the immunization systems (Aslam et al., 2020).
Strength of Study
The study has various strengths. One of them is that it found a robust link between socioeconomic factors and full immunization coverage. The study also covered several factors which can be explored to enhance vaccination systems.
Limitation of Study
The study has various limitations too. The study is a systematic review without a meta-analysis, hence a lower source of evidence. The study also has a risk of bias, and only eleven articles were included in the final analysis. There was also heterogeneity in the articles analyzed.
Recommendation
The findings of this research have a potential for application in future practice. The article reveals that the vaccination case is complex. As such, specific strategies are needed to enhance vaccine acceptance and uptake in low and middle-income countries. There is also a need to check the immunization status of mothers and children by field-based health workers and immunization managers to improve uptake (Aslam et al.,2020). Accurate and effective communication regarding the benefits of vaccines should be accomplished.
Conclusion
Vaccine uptake and acceptance are still a challenge in low and middle-income countries. Effective strategies need to be used to ensure that uptake is improved. Healthcare professionals have a huge role to play in improving acceptance and uptake.
