Health Organization Evaluation
The healthcare field is one of the most dynamic fields, and it is known to experience huge changes within short spans of time. The implication is that it is important for various healthcare organizations to formulate effective plans timeously so that they can remain relevant and competitive and be able to deliver the required services as the healthcare landscape quickly changes. Such formulated plans can be critical to organizations dealing with potential uncertainties they may experience. One of the common approaches used in achieving such goals is the formulation of strategic plans, which may be used to outline strategies that can help the organizations to be ready to meet the healthcare needs of the citizens in the next couple of years (Green et al., 2022). Therefore, the purpose of this assignment is to explore Banner Health’s readiness to meet the healthcare needs of the citizens in the next decade by discussing various aspects of the organization

Healthcare Organization
The organization of focus is Banner Health which is located in the US with its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. The organization is a not-for-profit healthcare system. The organization has three academic medical centers and thirty hospitals while also offering various health services in a total of six states, California, Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and Nebraska. Banner Health Network has been acknowledged and regarded as among the largest not-for-profit organization and a leader in the US health care cycles for the provision of high-quality clinical care to patients (“Banner Health,” 2022). The organization currently employs more than fifty thousand people, hence the largest private employer in Arizona and among the biggest in the region. Some of the services offered by the organizations include hospice and home care services, laboratory, pharmaceutical, surgery, emergency care, and primary care. The organization also offers physician services.
Organization Readiness
Organizational readiness determines how best a healthcare organization can offer efficient services to the population; as such, it is important to explore the readiness of Banner Health. This organization has appropriate financial, technological, and human resources that can be key in helping it meet the healthcare needs of the population it serves for the next couple of years. Since its establishment over two decades ago, the organization has tremendously expanded and has improved its services to foster health and improve the quality of life of various populations (“Banner Health,” 2022). The organization serves close to two million; hence Banner Health has proved its capability of effectively offering care to a large population through the use of both government and private health insurance plans.
The organization also adopted models such as the value-based reimbursement model to help meet the needs of the population at present and in the future. Through such models, the organization has effectively reduced costs and increased efficiency, which has led to care quality improvements (Grobaty et al., 2020). The organization has also set on a path of rapid growth of the care offered and focuses on consistent, safe, reliable, effective, and timely care to help improve outcomes. In addition, the organization has created a host of Imaginarium, which are used to test novel ideas for offering improved services that can meet the ever-increasing demand and needs of patients.
Strategic Plan
Strategic plans allow organizations to have an appropriate plan for the future. Therefore, as part of the strategic plan to address issues connected to network growth, the organization, since its inception, has focused on mergers and acquisitions to enhance its growth, with the first of such coming in 1999. Such an approach has enabled the organization to expand to various locations and improve the quality of the care that they deliver. As for nursing staffing, it is important to note that nurses play a key role in the process of patient care and treatment. Hence, the organization recognizes such central roles played by nurses (“Banner Health,” 2022). As such, Banner offers various career, growth, and education opportunities to the nursing staff to attract and retain them. In addition, Banner Health also offers the nurses access to training and resources, which in turn help them to offer better patient care services.
Resource management is also a key component of any successful organization. As such, Banner gives healthcare services to populations instead of focusing on profit generation since it is a not-profit healthcare system. The implication is that the organization must have an appropriate plan for resource management. As part of the plan, the organization is using value-based care to enhance the effective use of resources (“Banner Health,” 2022). As indicated earlier, the organization focuses on population health, implying that a shift to value-based care from the common volume-based care offers an ideal route for improving health outcomes are reduced costs.
There is also a strategic plan connected to patient satisfaction. As part of the organization’s top priority is patient satisfaction. The organization holds the notion that patients and their families should be given relevant, accurate, and appropriate information that can help them make informed healthcare decisions. Indeed, the issues connected to patient satisfaction are part of the organization’s philosophy of making a difference in people’s lives by offering excellent patient care (“Banner Health,” 2022). In addition, the organization has leveraged technology and uses Lifelink conversational chatbots to improve patient experience and satisfaction.
Potential Issues within the Organizational Culture
There are various potential issues within the organizational culture that can affect the aspects of the strategic plan. The organization lacks a uniform culture since its operations are spread across six different states. Such a wide area of operation makes the adoption of a uniform culture complex. As such, each facility within the network has a description of its culture; hence adopting or implementing a common strategic plan is a challenge. It is important to note that the process of strategic planning can be slowed down by competing cultures which also makes alignment difficult. The implication is that there is also difficulty in accomplishing the strategic goals.
Theory/Model
Models offer frameworks upon which implementations can be carried out. As such, the best model that can help support the implementation of the strategic plan is the goal-based strategic planning model. One of the reasons why this model is the best fit is that it deals with opportunities that the organization can exploit to grow and the major challenges that face the organization (Elwyn& Vermunt, 2020). Through the use of this model, the planning team starts by revisiting the vision, mission, and core values of the organization before going ahead to explore the aspects of strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, the planning team can come up with the best solution that can combat the potential negative impacts of the lack of a uniform organizational culture.
Conclusion
This write-up focused on Banner health care as a network. Therefore, a description of the organization has been explored, with the main highlight being one of the biggest private employers. In addition, other aspects that have been discussed include organizational readiness, strategic plan, potential issues in the organizational culture, and the model that can be used to implement the strategic plan.
