Promotion of population and community health is a collective effort of all the stakeholders in the health sector and the government. Healthcare providers play a crucial role in promoting health in various ways. Firstly, they offer health education to patients in clinical settings and the community. They teach people on an individual basis or as a group the effective ways of maintaining healthy lifestyles that will keep them away from falling sick, such as maintaining general cleanliness and using antiseptics. By so doing, people become more knowledgeable aboutprotecting themselves from various diseases (Liu et al., 2020). As a result, the incidence of new cases drastically decreased since the intervention targets the initial phase of disease progression.

 Healthcare providers can formulate policies that ensure equity in provision of health services. Usually, people from humble backgrounds who are economically challenged and even those with some form of disabilities pass through many challenges while trying to access healthcare services. The policies, therefore, should aim at reducing the health disparity and ensure that justice is served to every person irrespective of their economic status in the community. Effective health policies will ensure that every individual has improved access to healthcare services, thus, improving their social circumstances in the community (Shahzad et al., 2019). Healthcare providers and relevant stakeholders should be included in the committee responsible for formulating the policies since they are more aware of the challenges that economically challenged and disabled individuals face.

Healthcare providers can provide necessary advice and guidance to the community that will assist in reducing the incidence of cases witnessed. They can advisepeople to undergo screening tests for various health-related conditions to detect them early and appropriate treatment initiated (Shahzad et al., 2019). Early screening ensures that fatal conditions such as breast cancer are detected earlier and appropriate management is started, decreasing the mortality rate. Healthcare providers can also encourage the community to undergo massive immunization for diseases like TB, influenza, and polio. Massive immunization creates herd immunity, minimizing the spread of infection from one person to another. It ensures health promotion since there willbe limited or noimmunization-preventable infections.

Advocacy Actions to Improve Healthcare

Several people continue to suffer health-wise due to unfair social, economic, and political policies in the health sector. As a healthcare provider, I will ensure that I alleviate the suffering of individuals by advocating for their rights at both the state and federal government so that they have access to equal healthcare services. I will involve the relevant stakeholders, such as the policymakers, legislators, and the community. The policymakers are responsible for drafting the various policies used in healthcare settings (Chiu et al., 2021). Therefore, I will directly communicate with them about the level of disparities in the healthcare setting regarding service provision. I will present evidence-based literature after conducting thorough research on the subject matter. Furthermore, I will request the policymakers and the legislators to increase the financial support to support various healthcare activities to reduce health disparities. Besides, I will advocate for the employment of more healthcare providers so that there can be effective provision of healthcare services. The shortage of healthcare workers has been a stumbling block in ensuring adequate healthcare promotion and preventive services (Kuehne et al., 2022).

Community plays a crucial role in the advocacy of healthcare equity. Therefore, I will engage the community and take their views on how best to promote health and preventive services. I will hold various group discussions with various individuals and mobilize grassroots campaigns and awareness so the community can fully understand their health. Once I fully engage the community, I can forward their views to the state and federal government for appropriate action. Furthermore, I can liaise with community-based organizations so that they can assist me in my course of spreading the health promotion campaigns either through the provision of financial or other resources support.
